Non twisting strap

Has anyone ever found a strap that doesn’t suffer from the “twisties”. Every kind of strap I’ve used seems to suffer from the same malady, constantly getting twisted up. Does such a thing exist or is it like the holy grail?

I use Peak Design's Anchor Link system. Straps tend to stay off of my cameras until I need one now. I might install a Peak Design Cuff just to keep a camera secure to my hand. I might install the full-sized Slide strap for a longer walk or carry. The Anchor Links can take some twisting without bothering me, but they still twist some. Since I remove the straps frequently, this does not become a growing nuisance over time.

I also have an older strap I bought 13 years ago and still like to use. It is long out of production. Branded "National Geographic" back when they licensed their name to several photo accessories. It is a natural fiber khaki strap (possibly hemp) on the wider, main part around the neck. There are brass D-rings on the ends to which the narrow end straps clip on to. All of the clip hardware is also brass, and the clips have a full-swivel on them. So while you wear the strap around the neck, you can just twist the ends with your fingers to untangle the ends. And of course you can remove the neck part and clip the ends together to have a hand-carry strap. I plan to keep that strap as long as it stays together. When I bought the Peak Design straps, I bought the Anchor Link upgrade system that you can use to adapt a normal strap to the Peak Design system. This Nat Geo stap tends to be used about as much as the others.

I found this old photo from before the Anchor Links. Look at the bottom edge and you see the brass swivel of the Nat Geo strap. Don't have the full strap view accessible.

A few years I switched from using the 'twisties' straps that hang around your neck or shoulder to a hand strap which I now find much more practical.

+1 for Peak Design. I own many products from the Peak Design ecosystem and they're all fantastic.

They get twisted up because they're flat. I also have a "street strap" that I got several years ago. It's a round cord-type strap and it never gets twisted. I don't think you can get this particular brand anymore, but I'm sure you can find something similar:
