Cotswolds at war - steam power

We were at Toddington railway station all last weekend as my wife was working at the Cotswold at War re-enactment event.
We arrived Fri afternoon to set up and the main events for spectators was Sat and Sun.
I covered a rainy Sat with the Nikon DF and despite the intermittent rain the Df delivered some images I am happy with, these are a selection of photos of the steam trains that were taking passengers up and down the line on a regular basis - great fun and very well attended.

Apologies for it being image heavy.

Never apologize for being image heavy on this forum! In fact, post more of these cool shots if you have them. :)

Thank you for the kind words, I always get concerned about posting too many photos but as long as other members are ok with that I will continue to do so.
The full set of images from the event can be seen on my blog here - 571 Photography
I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I have enjoyed shooting them.

Thank you Jenn, it was a very good event and travelling on the trains to the other stations that also had events going on was very nostalgic and took me back to my childhood.

Love these shots! Thank you for sharing. Had to go out and catch some of the photos on your Flickr page as well. That looks like an amazing event. Well done. We do the Civil War Reenactments here, and I have a friend that does Abe Lincoln almost as well as your Churchill. But there are very few that match the scale. Loved the Spitfires and cars as well.

Thanks Andy and Dan, it is a superb event that is held once a year but always well attended regardless of the weather and the re-enactors are always so willing to be photographed and co-operate when asked - a true photographers dream.

Thanks Dan, the costumes are very authentic and the people wearing them very knowledgeable about the era so often this serves as a good education event where the younger visitors can enjoy the sights as well as ask questions and learn all in a really friendly manner.

It is a superb camera Marcel just a shame it gets bad press - usually from those who have never used one. That D4s sensor is stunning and I am a very happy owner.
