Nature in the fields

I was out today with a good friend and fellow photographer who captures some superb nature shots, I wanted to take the D810+Tamron 150-600 out so thought I would try and combine the big lens and nature.

I am happy with the results despite a severe lack of insects around, I did manage to lock on and track a damselfly and I am very happy with the results.

Again it showed me what a powerful combination this camera/lens is but after a few hours and 8+Km I could feel the weight!!!!!

Hope this is not too image heavy.

Yes, excellent, and surprising since I've wondered about a 95mm solution, and am puzzled what 8+Km is? I assume a +8 closeup filter. Konica-Minotla? D49? No clue. And 95mm? Any hints appreciated, obviously a great solution.

Thanks Chris, it was a great afternoon and I am pleased to see the combo works well for nature as well as aerial.

Sorry Wayne, the 8+Km means 8 kilometres and more in distance.

Thanks both,

The joy of photography, good exercise looking for subject matter - long walks, carrying heavy equipment much more fun then the gym and we can capture memories to remember it by as well as getting a workout!

Thanks Mike,

The light just hit the flower at the right angle to make it stand out.

The flying shots were a challenge!

Fantastic pictures. My favourite is the top one: light, colour and composition are perfect. Great demonstration of what a 150-600 lens is capable of. I think I need to try more flowers and butterflies with my Sigmonster.

It's like is always said, Iansky must have a really good camera. :)

Also like should be obvious, he certainly knows how to use it.

Wayne, thank you for your kind words.

I do enjoy my photography and prefer to take my time to get the shot rather than do rapid fire and hope for the best.

The D810+Tamron is a great combo but still heavy to handhold for a long time - have to say the images it delivers is well worth the effort.

Yes, you certainly have several awesome photo threads posted here.

South Cerney Vintage Steam Fair is my favorite that I remember. Like these, you have created awesome photos.

Thank you Wayne, most kind.

I do appreciate the fact that no matter how long you have been doing it for you never stop learning and in this day of digital once you have the equipment the cost is just time and effort.

It is not about the equipment more about the user, I have met many people with cheap cameras that produce stunning images and many more with expensive cameras that do not have an eye for composition / shape / tone / texture.
