Finally got a chance to use this lens. No PP except for cropping, although the D3100 was set to Vibrant. Took about 50 shots, here's a few of the better ones, rest in my gallery DSC_0068_118.jpgeDSC_0054_104.jpgsDSC_0064_114.jpg:DSC_0058_108.jpg

Thank you Pete, They are beautiful flowers, too bad they don't last long. Funny my favorite lens now was the cheapest!

Spectacular. I can only hope to get something close to those. I'm shooting Tulips on Sunday AM, and since my camera doesn't have a vibrance setting I'll have to play with it in Lightroom.

Thank you all for the comments. It's nice to finally get out and take some shots after this endless winter! It has helped to be on this site and see all the great work you folks do to keep me motivated.

Mike- Tulips are a great subject, can't wait till they come up around here. You have some awesome flower shots in your gallery, what lens are you using?

I have the two kit lenses (18-55 and 55-200) I also have the 105 Macro but have not really learned to use that effectively. I plan to take a few using the two kit lenses then break out the 105 and try for close ups. I also found out there is a vivid selection on the d60 so I may try some shots with that on. Luckily the Farm is going to allow me an hour before they open to take a lot of shots. They grow and sell the tulips on a pick your own ($1/stem) basis. I'll probably pick some colorful ones to bring home to my wife, and I can work some closeups with a dark background. Hope I have some results for you by tomorrow evening.

Mike- Wow, thats a great opportunity to be able to get in there early for shots! My wife has caught onto my buying flowers for "her". I would take some with the "vivid" off also, I think I lost some detail with the pollen in some of my shots due to the strong colors perhaps a bit over-emphasized. Looking forward to seeing your shots.

Rick, the flowers are awesome and inspiring. I am going out and dig in the snow bank to see if there are any of those up here. I'll let you now what I find!
