O.k, every camera have a user guide explaining the
features
and settings that are possible with the camera.
What I am looking for is a good book that will show me when and how to use this settings.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Amnon
Only recently have I begun to shoot off-auto on my DSLR. I found various Youtube.com videos helpful.
One of the best guides I found was a DVD/download how-to guide by Jared Polin (Photography Tips | Beginner Photography | FroKnowsPhoto - Jared Polin). He has plenty of great videos on his site and youtube for free and has a great way to present the information so it is easy to follow and understand.
David Busch is an author. He's written a specific user manual for just about all the Nikon cameras. His books detail every setting in the camera, the default settings, and the reasons to change the settings for specific results... You can search Amazon's Book sections by author name, and select the book he's produced for your specific camera... If you have one of his camera books, you can pretty much throw the Nikon user manuals away...
One of the best I've found is the Digital Field Guide for the 5100. It's exactly what you're looking for and, in my opinion, what the users guide that came with your camera SHOULD have been.
I got a book for my camera, that was amazing. "Dummies guide to (insert Camera)" They have one for pretty much every camera, and it's usually by the same author. Really good books though.
Have a look at the Mike Browne videos on Youtube,i think they are very good and easy to understand, also another vote for the David Busch camera guides.
