That's pretty impressive. The Helios has been one of those lenses I "really really" like in certain contexts and flatly don't in others (I shoot crop sensor, so there's some of the factoring).

Conceptually speaking here, I love the idea and execution. I'd really like to see these kind of ideas come forth in other lenses like a Jupiter or MiR.

it can be tricky for wider lenses since the cheap AF lenses mostly if not all have a damn deep barrel. It would be a shame to destroy a working AF-Nikkor just for that but maybe I will if I find one that is cheap and dead. :D
