Used Sigma 70-200 f2.8 OS for $1000 or Tamron 70-200f2.8 VC for $1500

The local camera store has a used Sigma for $1000 and a new Tamron for $1500. I really want a OS/VC 70-200 f2.8 and would love to save $500 and get the Sigma. For a non-pro photographer like me, for anyone else who has used these lenses, will I have buyers remorse later for not shucking out the extra $500 for the Tamron?
I am planning on buying it in a couple hours.

Thanks
Brian

Are you saying "a non-pro photographer like me" to mean that you don't care about better IQ or faster focus? If so then buy the Sigma. Take it for what it's worth, I've never owned either of those lenses. I am in the market so I've done extensive research. From what I've seen the Sigma isn't even in the same boat as the Nikon 70-200 VRII or Tamron 70-200. Most online camera stores have a rebate for $100 on that Tamron bringing the price to $1,399.

Tamron can be purchased new on ebay or amazon for $1,100
you have to wait for it though. I'm watching the prices because I'm also thinking of getting one
