Opinion on the Tamron AF 200-500mm lens...

As some of you may now, I'm thinking of upgrading to a new lens, and I am thinking of this one-

My main use of the lens with my Nikon D7000 would be to use it for outdoor things, as well as indoor activities, such as sci-fi conventions. Anyway, what do y'all think of this lens, and would it be a valid upgrade from my current Nikon 300mm lens.

G/day Rocky....What will the lighting be like...F6.3 at the long end could be a bit slow...Might be an idea to hire one to see how it performs...

Hello. I plan a trip to Australia next year, which is where the convention is, and while my current Nikon lens was great, I'm looking for something with more range.
