    Re: D700 Issues

Welcome to the forum Leatha. I do love my D700. Glad to hear that your issue was easily resolved. I have a few of those situations where the problem is a short between the camera and the floor or chair. They are much less expensive to fix

When doing a firmware update... be sure the BIN file is in the "root" directory of your memory card, and NOT in a subfolder... Nikon's website method tends to put the BIN file in a subfolder... If it's in a subfolder, your camera won't see it...

I'm one of those who think if something isn't broken, it doesn't need fixing. In all honesty, I've never updated firmware on any of my cameras and haven't experienced any issues for not doing so. When I sent my D600 to Nikon for the oil spot issue, they updated the firmware even though it wasn't something I requested. If the firmware contains a vital fix that would help me, then of course I would consider it.

Hope the suggestions by the other members help you!
