I agree, those images look pretty damn good.

For a while I was thinking about a superzoom lens, something like a 18-300mm for travel but I'd seriously consider getting something like this instead.

What would you do if you were looking for one lens to do it all for a holiday, superzoom lens or superzoom bridge?

Nikon 18-300mm f3.5-5.6 £599 Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo

Nikon P900 £499 Nikon COOLPIX P900 Digital Camera - Black 3-Inch LCD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

p.s. for the record I've decided to just take a few lenses on my upcoming holiday, if its not too much hassle might just continue that way.

That's a tough call. I should have the budget to get the Tamzooka in Sept. But now I'm thinking about getting both the P900 and the Tamron 90mm macro instead. The Tamzooka is awesome. But the zoom on this camera is hard to pass up. I have the 55-300mm Nikon lenses. Not a bad lenses or great. But I'm very often yearning for more reach. Perhaps even more then the 150-600 Tamron can provide. I've got some thinking to do

I'm saving up for either the tamzooka (or Contemporary sigma equivalent) or a 300mm f4 and 1.4x teleconverter for much the same reasons as yourself, my 70-300mm although good doesn't give me the reach or IQ I want. Also looking at the tokina 100mm macro although could be swayed towards the tamron 90mm. Think I need to research these bridge cameras more to see how they really stack up. I've used cheaper bridge cameras and although they are good for those who just want to point and shoot, they were lacking for what I want. Hadn't really thought about the top end bridge cameras.

i got one on order from lensrentals, it will be here wed. $86.00 for a week, should be fun to see what it can do. i really like my tamron 150-600mm, just getting to be a little heavy and awkward to use at times.

Throw away the manual that comes with the camera, ok to get started (26 pages vs 119 internet download)
