Is there a way to lock the focus point in the middle on the Z7?

I don't think so. You might be able to configure the camera to center the focus point when you press the center of the joystick or the OK button.

There is no lock switch to lock the focus point in the center but you can press the center of the multi-selecor on the back and that will center the focus point.
