I just waded through all that crap about him only to find the thread closed.

I just want to say that I am here because of his good advice to a complete newbie. Because of him I bought my D3100 and I don't regret it one little bit. All I want to say is that without people doing what they feel is the right thing for them, rather than simply following the herd, we would have no innovation, no pushing the edge. Right or wrong, that's life. My father became extremely successful doing something that had been unfashionable for decades and, had he learned about it formally, he would have been taught to avoid it. Instead, he made it internationally popular once more. Express an opinion by all means, but don't attempt to influence.

Thread closed.

I'm glad to hear he helped you. I'm sure you're not alone either, many people here would likely say KR opinions influenced them along the way, too. I have an UpStrap on my D800 based partially on his opinion. It bothers me to no end having my camera strap slide around on my should and after researching straps, including KR's page, I decided on the UpStrap. It sticks to my shoulder like no other strap I know. Might not be the most stylish of straps but for functionality, it's awesome.

I am not ashamed to admit that I have followed some of KR's advise from time to time and will always check his and Thom Hogan's site especially about lenses that I might be considering. Is he opinionated? Yes. Otherwise why bother. But I also check opinions on this site before I finally make up my mind on any purchases. That is just being cautious.

Ken is very strong techincally wise. Hes an engineer. Photographer he is not. He doesnt know what creativity or art is. Everything is shot to f/8 or more and his compositions is very boring.

He is shameless though. Begging for money while flashing expensive watches and mercedes in many pics.

The other thing that I think is tactless is him constantly posting pics of his children and I see the real reason why he does it and I think its very low class.

I too dont shoot raw. I tried it, bUt dont see a real benfit to it. Sure its better than jpeg but not noticeable and the couples of weddibgs I shoot dont need the huge file sizes. Almost every picture just gets viewed on screens and almost never printed. For wedding albums jpeg does a fantatstic job

i find myself going less and less to his site because as of late His reviews seem inconsitant to other reviewers and I think he says everything is great in order to get u to buy and use his links so he can get paid. I only go to specific pages to get technical info on the (mostly) lenses im interested in.

I seethe real Ken. He is fake. And no photog. Far from it

We have beat this horse to death in many threads over the years. Every time people get upset and mad because everyone else does not feel the same way that they do and then gets mad. So far this thread has not gone wacko yet. Before it does I am going to shut it down. Lets not start another thread about it.

Thanks guys,
