First of all I want to praise Nikon for all their efforts and their commitment to satisfy me. This tale started this past September prior to labour day when I sent my D3s to Nikon via London Drugs to have it cleaned and have a few minor adjustments done. A couple weeks go by I was informed by London Drugs that my repairs cleaning and adjustments would be done for free! Great! Thanksgiving rolls around and I haven't received my camera back. London Drugs phone Nikon to inquiry? Nikon now tells them my D3s has water damage and will require parts and I would be charged. I freak out because there was no way that could be. Gets worse Nikon confirms it's un fixable. At this point I am furious I sent a perfectly working D3s and they destroyed it. I was given the name of the person in charge of customer service in Mississauga great - I phone him and calmly explained the situation he then did some investigation and told me he was very sorry about this whole scenario and he would since my D3s was not repairable find me a good used one comparable to mine and send it to free of charge. He wasn't going to purse the moisture damage because he believed me. I was am impressed

This was a week ago Thursday I was informed I would be getting my D3s that Nikon found me it was being shipped to London Drugs. Yesterday London Drugs phone me to tell me my D3s was in however there was a problem the shipping box & the Nikon gold box & camera were soaking wet. Yes soaking wet Purolator was the shipping company Nikon & London Drugs use. I do believe Purolator owes Nikon, London Drugs an explanation and me a new camera.

I will keep you up todate as the story unfolds. Again I am very very impressed how Nikon helped me out they certainly are a first class company.

Unbelievable! And you say you're impressed with Nikon service??? You send them a perfectly good camera and all of a sudden it has water damage??? I don't know, Sam....doesn't sound too impressive to me, bud.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how Purolator got your package all wet!

Wow! It'll be interesting to hear what happens next. The shipping company should be on the hook for a new camera now!

Since getting the 2nd one back wet. I believe Nikon when they said mine was water damaged courier again I would think) - Purolater is the one to be mad at. As far as I am concerned Nikon did a great job on helping out. They need to talk to the courier.

So Purolator got your camera wet the first time and that is why Nikon cannot repair it, and then the replacement camera they got wet ? ....Ummm what are they using for transport? a fish tank on wheels??

Maybe they sent it by Canadian submarine....you know....the ones with the screen doors! ;)

Ah yes, OK....I see your point now. Didn't think of the courier as being Purolator the first time. Makes sense now. :)

They have a bridge somewhere in Canada where every KIA Canadian soldier gets to go by and like everyone stops dead in their tracks every time it happens or something. Perhaps Sam or Jack know more about this than me.

You must have infinite patience and understanding Sam because I would be freaking on someone in your situation despite the fact that it wouldn't help probably.

He said he didn't know Canada even had a military...of course it does...

Nikon and it's distributors definitely need to back up there flagship type pro model or else their reputation will suffer...I bet someone makes it good...

Forget a refurbed one in mint condition, the courier company should now be forking out for a brand new one.

I'd be asking for immediate resolution on this issue, as it sounds like you've been out of camera for a while now.

I agree with Sam ! The courier will have insurance - I would not settle or anything less than brand new !

It is actually not just one bridge, it is all the overpasses over the stretch of highway 401 between trenton, ontario and toronto, ontario. Trenton is the home of the biggest air force base and is where our fallen brothers and sisters are re-patriated. From there, they are driven in convoy to toronto to the coroners office. Now you know. Maybe in the future you can do a little research before trivialising something so close to my heart and every other canadians heart. Have a nice day from north of the border and from all past and present members of the canadian armed forces.
