Ok folks... here is an update.. A discussion came up on another thread regarding tables and focus stacking... wireless or otherwise. That brought me back to DSLRDashboard which in conjunction with the WU-1A had a focus stock option. I knew the tablet would not run it to test but my cell phone would.. So I set up a quick test... keep in mind I have no instructions so just guessed.... Here is the setup... just put the camera and the Spyder Lenscal on the table... Also a screen shot of part of the stacking screen.. I used 10 and 25 (no clue what I should have used..) It also has a setting for "direction"... again, no directions, as you will see, I focused FIRST and then it went from there to closest.. It took all 10 shots and adjusted the focus point on its own... I did NOTHING! It adjusted the focus point on its own... ( would need to learn the units and meaning of Focus Step if I was going to use it) Once you have the images, you need to STACK them.. preferred in PS but my old CS2 would not do it so I located a free stacker called CombineZP. I loaded the images in, selected stack & GO, then saved the Output file. Here are the shots - 1st is a test shot focused at the center... 2nd is the output from the stacking Folks, it works!! It is also simple, no manual focus or anything else... just set the software and say go! I will likely try this next week with a Macro lens and see how it performs. REMINDER : DSLRdashboard is Android Only! Pat in NH
