The truth of the matter is the D3000 and D5000 are VERY capable cameras for the majority of people. Heck, most of the folks with higher end cameras don't use the majority of the features available to them. Day-to-day photography for the photo enthusiast does not demand tons of features. Unless you have very specific needs you should feel confident that buying a D3000 or D5000 is a good investment. Do I own one? Among other Nikon cameras, yes I do. It holds a place in my gear bag and gets used very, very often.</p></blockquote><p></p>
