The openings are too small for sparrows, but the sparrows still check them out. They hop all around the branches trying to see if there is a way they can get inside. Then I got a couple of bluebird houses. Those are taller. The sparrows took quickly to them, and it's where they make their homes. This birdhouse was also taken over by a sparrow this year.
