Usually Mom owl flies out from the nest and meets Dad in a nearby perch, then Dad gives the female whatever prey it has caught to bring to the nest. This time, Dad brought a rabbit's head right to the nest. I've never seen this male owl so close in the several years I have watched this pair. You can see Mom reaching for the food with her beak.
