So having had this before it was not such a scare waking up this morning looking like I have had a stroke. Having said that my heart sunk because I know this means 2 months of misery at least.

I went to the docs immediately this morning and got steroids, you need these quickly.

I can't shut my right eye lost taste on the right side of my tongue, basically the right side of my face is dead.

It's gonna make photography hard.

I got an eye patch yarrrr and some tape. Hopefully that may help.

Any other tips?

A couple people I've spoken to recently mentioned that they had a bout with it. I'll be seeing them again this week and I'll ask if there's anything that helped. I'll also see if my wife remembers.

So sorry. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you recover faster then two months. But I know a guy that just went through this. And it was about the same amount of time as well. He took it in stride too. He got a T-shirt made that said "Slapped once t0o often by my wife caused this" With a picture of a granny doing a slap down on a dude. Pretty funny.

I'm guessing you shoot with your left eye, so the patch is to cover your right eye while shooting.

Only other thought I have would be to use live view. They make these little pop-up shades to allow better use in daylight.

Yeah live view is a great idea :) Never thought of that. I used tape last time as well, I prefer that to an eye patch :) thanks for all the help so far guys :) Just gonna take my first steroids and drink through a straw :/
