[QUOTE="stmv, post: 795878, member: 10038"] Summer is flying, as perhaps you can notice, I am too busy enjoying summer and taking pictures, that 46 days or so passed since my last blog. On the equipment front, I really want to give a shout out to the super 70-210 F4,, what a wonderful lens, super sharp at a reasonable price, and the right weight, not some heavy tank of a lens, but fairly compact, and sharp, sharp sharp, Fast focus, and overall, I believe one of the better buys. Buy the extra collar, but I will say that the collar loosens too easy, and then kinda rotates around, so I find myself constantly re-tightening, I am tempted to keep it off except for when I need to have it on a tripod, but, knowing me, I won't have it when I need it then The DF continues to shine, I hear the rumors of a Mirrorless maybe in the style of the DF. Bring it on Nikon, Now, I am kinda torn on loosing a mirror SLR, for the one reason .... night photography, I find the mirrorless hard to use as the video viewer ends up looking like a 1950's Black and white TV with awful reception. so,, in that type of shooting, I still prefer the old fashion SLR, on the otherhand, might make me dump my Sony gear. One area Nikon needs to improve upon is the size of their lens, they have become bloated, perhaps some type of diet, with an all metal casing. come out with a mirrorless SLR compatible with the old Nikkor lens (like the Df), with maybe a few extra new prime lens, (grins updated AIS lens without the G factor). Time will tell, by the way, 16 Meg DF sensor.... wow ,, double wow, not in the pixel count baby, but in the tone, and seriously, with the primes lens, I never have to sharpen, so, end up with a totally useful image. I would like Nikon to come out with basically the same mirrorless body, but with a range of sensors like Sony, from the lower pixel, fantastic low noise, , to the ultra high pixel version for the pixel counters. Also, don't cripple the Bracketing, High Buffer Depth, fast processing, and definitely KEEP the Live View Exposure control, course, with mirrorless,, the exposure control is essentially the monitor ANYHOW.. laughs, when I switch from my mirrorless systems to Nikon, takes me a moment to remember to look at the light meter (I shoot manual). anyhow, keep on shooting, summer will be done soon. and shoot on rainy days too!
