My "new" D200 arrived! and wel, its like NEW!
the listing said it had like 2500 shots, and so,, I immediately took a few, and the uploaded up to
shuttercount .... and yup,, the camera really only had that many shots! only at 3% shutter life.
and I am like holy cow! Now some may wonder,, a D200,, are you crazy,,, and yes,, I chase
pixels too owning a D800 and often doing mult shot merges of 80-120 million pixel images..
but.... I really consider the D200 to be a breakout camera, it was the sensor that ended the holdouts
like me that was hanging onto our F3/FE2s etc,, 10.2 pixel range,, which translates to about a 11x14 native
image, but can uplift large, but pushing much past say 20x30 range,, you are just at the end of the pixel
density but hey, can be poster size as long as you don't stand too close,
but its the color,, the CCD is rich, always has been,, love the look of CCD,
and for someone looking into mastering the features of a high end SRL without spending a ton
of dough,, look no further, the D200 has them all, super controls, Can bracket up to 9 shots! My
D700 only does a bracket depth of 3), hot buttons all around, Its amazing, but I can go
from the D200 to my D800 and feel totally natural, hardly notice.
It has the autofocus drive of the older Nikkor AF lens where the body has to drive the
focus, it can meter all my old glass, it has a top light meter (which I really love
and was disappointed that the 7000/7100 camera drops.
water tight, tough tough tough,,, great feel to hands
and you can now get them for 200 dollars! I paid 50 dollars more for the new
condition,
does this mean I am not using my D800,, no,, but it does mean at that price,
I can just leave the D200 in my truck,, I tossed the old 3.5-4.5 28-70 on it, which
is actually a ultra cheap lens almost perfectly matched for the D200 sensor.

I have seen this lens go for between 30-75 dollars.
so,, about 250 dollars you can get a solid kit! that takes great pictures, and best of all get used
to all the features of newer models at a fraction of the price.
limitations:
1. serious noise above ISO 800,, and in fact I personally won't exceed ISO 320 on this camera.
2. Pixel density limits you SLIGHTLY, and I mean slightly. and remember, you can easily
overlap shots and mutliply your pixels easily!,, I do that all the time.
so,, if you are on a budget, this is a real real bargain,
or,, if you are a camera lover like me,, or love the old CCD sensor, or just like
a bargain, a cool addition,
