I have been exploring some of the photo sharing sites lately,, expanding,,
one of my favorites but oldies is a critique site called photosig.. the good, is that people put real opinion on the shots, and,, it keeps all the pictures in order, and category, so pretty easy to
find photos. plus,, it is not that popular, that submissions get buried too quickly. The bad, is that the site is a bit old fashion, but for people lookng for honest feedback on their photos
more than just 3 words, then a good site.
then there are all the other.. what is becoming a social media sites, where the popular photots survive and the rest end up in the dust heap of tim. These sites a slicker, fun, and
weill you can really see what appeals to the mass audience, Also, these sites, because of the amount of people participating, happen in more real time, you can see the
likes happening almost as fast as you posted a picture.
If you have a dramatic landsccape,, then very good chance of becoming popular quickly, where a more suble shot,, you will still get likes/etrc,, but a smaller group.
but don't dispair,, it has been my experience that the subtle pictures can sell just as easily,
I think all these experiences broaden you,, and of course, you can be simply amazed by the shear volume of great photos.
but.. remember, you are looking at a worldwide site, with some of the most serious photographers in the world, so of course the photos that are popular are also great.
right now,, I have been having fun with the 500px site, very dynamic.
