Back from the weekend fest,, ok,, Golf, Fishing, Photography, eating, and great company, what's not to like,, I was so exhausted when I got home,, that had fell asleep by 9:00.
Because I was risking salt water, I brought my older D700 versus riskng the D800.
Course I have to look at the number on front to really tell the difference, the cameras feel so similar. Once you reprogram the light meter to work correctly with the dial, its a really nice to have two almost identical cameras.
Speaking of the reversing the light meter control directions, I imagine some meeting between Nikon Sales and engineering,,
Sales Manager -> This D800 is going to steal so many Canon users, Let's reverse the light meter so that they are comfortable.
Engineer politely nods heads (this is Japan afterall, they can't say now)
go backs and implement, but thank goodness programmed the override.
Sales Manager happy Engineer happy
About the only differnce I notice (besides a hair less detail),, is the burst speed,, wow, the D800 is slow! laughs,, The D700 almost burst the pictures too fast.. hench Contineous slow.
D800 is so slow that only nead one setting.
I actually was unable to get any dedicated photo time,, some trips, you just have to be more social,, and this was one of them,, but,,,, next trip to the cape,,,,
