I had a Photobucket account a few years ago and liked it for the most part. It worked well and it was really the only service I knew about at the time. I moved to 500px because it looked swankier. Really was no different than Photobucket in my opinion. I wasn't too keen on everyone trying to get me to "check out their photos" to boost their popularity. Finally joined Flickr a couple of years ago because I heard the communities are larger/better. IMO most of these services are fairly competitive so they are fairly close in what they offer. And they try to stay updated with their look, feel and navigation. When I do searches for a particular type of photo, Flickr seems to have what I'm looking for. So I plopped my money down on them.
