Just ordered a Sigma 150-600 C!

I do a lot of walking while wildlife shooting. I'm looking for some carry strap recommendations.

Thanks

Thanks Mike.

Do you connect to nthe body or lens?

When you are using a lens that weighs more than the body, you want to attach the strap to the lens (tripod foot if it has one). Otherwise it may put a great deal of pressure on the lens mount if you attach the strap to the body.

I got the Black rapid sport a few weeks ago after it was recommended by quite a few on here, Excellent camera strap, well worth the money.

I've had this lens for over a year. I use the Black Rapid strap, attached to the lens.
When I first got this lens, I was using the neck strap on the body, ...Big Mistake! It's a neck killer, and I think it might have caused problems with the lens itself. Putting all that stress on the camera/lens attachment may have been the source of a problem I had with the camera failing to recognize that a lens was attached. It may have been pulling the contacts apart when I walked or moved.
I should have known better, but it took a few warning messages to get me thinking about it. Since changing to the Rapid strap, no issues whatsoever.

Peak Design Slide for me, best part is the Tripod Collar can still be used with (Select) Arca tripods without having to take the annoying hook clip off before hand and also the Capture system.

Used black rapid but its use of the Tripod mount (on either a lens or on the camera) makes it cumbersome and counter intuitive, you have to take the camera and lens off the strap when transitioning between a tripod plate and the hook, leaving a moment in time that if you accidentally drop it ... its on the floor ...

I'm in the same boat as Daz. I was a BR user back in the day but there are some things I didn't like about it. The connecting mechanism was too noisy for me and I wasn't a fan of a single point of attachment. I use the Peak Design Slide as well because I like having a connection point on the camera body AND on the lens. For me two connecting points gives me a little more stability. I single connecting point whether it was on the body or lens just left it dangling. I like having the multiple options to attach anchor points on the lens, tripod mount OR the camera strap rings.

Here are some brief reviews of some popular straps.

But for a heavier lens like the OP mentions, he really should use a strap that attaches to the tripod mount. The other option would be to use a holster system (bag) to carry the lens while it is attached to the body. When carrying a heavy lens with the strap attached to the body, the weight of the lens will pull on the mount which may cause issues.

The Slide strap DOES attach to the tripod mount ... The plate that is used has 4 points for the anchors so the strap can be used solely on the Tripod Mount, or if you are using something like a 70-200 you can put it on the tripod mount and the camera ...

Thanks for the clarification! :)

No problem :) Here is a photo so you can see what I am on about using a 70-200 2.8.

As you can see, I can slide it into my Capture clip and the anchors dont get in the way.
