Which AF switch to use?

Hi! I need to clear up the use of the AF switches on my D7100 and Nikon 18-140mm.

Both have AF on/off switches. Which one should be used to turn off AF, or should I turn both off?

Why is the switch on both, or maybe what is the purpose?

btw, Kinda new to the d7100... like it a lot! Thanks for the input!

The switch on your camera is because D lenses do not have a switch or focus motor,i was told to switch both off with AFS lenses.

Don't really need to turn both off on a AFS lens, the camera knows you want MF if either switch is in M.

MF switch on body physically retract the focusing screwdriver, so that you can freely turn the focus dial on an older AF-D lens.

With back button focus, if you try it, you don't have to switch off AF anywhere. Just don't hit the AE/AF lock button and focus away (except for older lenses). Plus, since the focus ring can be used with AF, why would you want to turn it off?
