Unfortunately, this has become the norm. A few years ago my daughter and I went to a Japanese steakhouse. At our grill table there was a small group that was celebrating one of the girl's birthday. One of the girls spent the entire meal with her head buried in her phone. If that had been my daughter, we would have retired to the parking lot for a conversation, and the phone would have gone home in my pocket.

The one's that get me are when they are still looking down at their phones crossing the road.
