[QUOTE="Rick M, post: 399879, member: 4399"] I struggled between about 5 shots to post, not because of quality, but rather memories. My first love is landscapes followed by trains and of course, HDR processing. The shot I picked included all those elements along with research, planning and my most scarce resource, luck. I found this spot through a Facebook group and decided to plan a road-trip to the Adirondacks including a detour to this location. I planned everything, determining the direction of the shot and best time of day to arrive. The fall colors where reaching their peak so I headed out on the best day weather wise. I arrived early in the morning, sun to the left as I planned and fired away. Unfortunately the sky was cloudless and the lighting harsh, wasn't too happy with the outcome. I continued on to Old Forge where I got some great shots of another objective, a church on Forth Lake from the water. I decided to stop by this spot on my way back and was pleasantly surprised by the clouds and lighting. I fired away and was pleased, not perfect but I was happy. This would also become one of my last good shots before I changed systems. It's amazing when you look back at your work how many fond memories pop up; realizing technical quality isn't everything.
