What's Hanging From Your Rear View Mirror?

For those of you who have something hanging from their rear view mirror, what is it? Mine is a strange bug, as purchased from my child at our garage sale. I took a fancy to it, dutifully paid the asking price and have enjoyed its presence for many years since.

In California, it is illegal to have things hanging like that from one's rear-view mirror.

As I tend to find extra objects dangling and swinging in my field of view distracting, and I consider such distractions to be unsafe in the context of operating a motor vehicle; I would not hang things from my rear-view mirror even if it were legal. Certainly not anything as big and distracting as the object in the OP appears to be.

Many things are unsafe in the context of operating a motor vehicle. Hanging doo dads are not one of them.

Handheld phones.
Texting.
Following too closely. (California drivers seem to make a sport of this)
Changing the radio station.
Putting make up on
Eating a sloppy Joe.
Playing air guitar. (or air drums)
Plus a thousand other things I could list.

Does California have a law for all of these, or just for silly things like hanging doo dads?

Very nice Ron. You might be in the wrong thread though unless I'm just not seeing anything on your rear view mirrors. In that case I apologize.
