I think the higher rate still stands if it's regarded as the true cost of a job, however if you're doing it as part hobby and part extra cash then that's a different thing altogether. I recently did a shoot in my home studio for my wife's friend and her two kids. I charged nothing on that occasion as I wanted the practice.
