It just takes a little patience and the good tools to do it. You could probably start by buying a "Rocket Blower" which is basically a rubber ball with a nozzle and an intake filter so you don't bring more dust than you're trying to remove. In 98% of the cases, this would do the job. Unfortunately for me, the D600 had stuff that seemed stuck to the sensor and these needed the wet cleaning with the swabs.Also make sure you start with a freshly charged battery and read your manual on the procedure to do sensor cleaning.</blockquote>
