Got my D800 £1300, UK model 400 shutter actuations, Currys last Demo model, full Nikon Warranty I think I may have got a bargain...couldn't resist as it was cheaper than the D610 I was going to get.
warranty and in the case of some camera bodies such as the 7100 and I believe the 610, the imports don't have the alloy metal bodies that the US models have. That's the main reason the US models cost more.
There is no difference in the actual cameras shipped anywhere in the world in terms of material used in the bodies. Power cables for chargers are different , as are any included printed manuals to cover the different languages.
Otherwise, its as aroy says in his post. Manufacturers don't make two versions.
I was just repeating what I had read... actually I think I remember someone from one of the big retailers telling me that when I inquired about imports. Sorry for the misinformation given about a month or so ago.
