I am not smart enough to be a full fledged geek, but I have some limited technical experience with lots of problem solving. This just means I am not afraid to mess with stuff. It doesn't mean I won't screw something up messing with it.  I recently played with the AF-fine tuning menu just to see how it works.  I set it back when I was done playing with it. Hands-on.
