[QUOTE="wthorson, post: 351464, member: 12867"] Day 242/365 This is an old barn on my families old homestead. My grampa built this and other structures on the farm that he homsteaded in the 1800's. He had over 800 acres of land that he farmed. It is a sad story why the land is not still in the family. My grampa was getting old and leased the land and farm to a neighbor who said that he would take care of the farm for him. They signed a paper, but my grampa trusted the neighbor and didn't totally check out the papers. In the papers the neighbor was given the opportunity to buy the whole 800 acres for $20,000. Soon we found out that my grampa was taken advantage of, but he was too proud to take his neighbor to court. The neighbor subdivided the land and made millions of dollars from it. It still makes me sad to think that someone would do that to my grampa. But, I was able to get some pictures of the memories that I had there.
