Yesterday I shot my longest timelapse so far, consisting of some 2500 pictures. When I got home I noticed that the file number sequence was a bit odd. Now, the files are named dsc_0000.nef. This would lead you to believe that after 999 pictures it would just start using the fourth digit, thus naming the file dsc_1000.nef. However on my camera it opted to start over and just add a '-1' and subsequently a '-2' to the file names. I have file sequence naming set to off, but I was lead to believe that this would only affect the way the files are named when the sd card is emptied, not if it should use three or four digits during the same shoot. Anyone else noticed this behaviour?
