Now, I really meant to participate in this “Damaged” challenge, but when thinking about it and walking around the house, in the garage, through the garden, in the shed and more generally all over the property, believe it or not but I realized to my great shame (or not?) that I do not seem to own anything that could truly be called “damaged”... except for that broken-and-fixed squarish black bowl of my wife’s (her Japanese kintsugi work), but I cannot use that as I already included it in the “Containers” theme photo for the September challenge. Yikes! Old and used, yes —damaged, no. Finally, my wife suggested that I use the one of her favorite large cups that I managed to chip some time ago while putting it in the kitchen sink. I was saved. Nikon Z7 II, Micro-Nikkor Z MC 105mm, ƒ/2.8 S macro lens. Gitzo tripod, Arca-Swiss Cube C1 geared head. Artificial lighting (two cobra flashes). Composite shot made of 68 focus-stacked exposure, using the built-in function on the camera —in other words, first the camera, then the computer, did all the work while I was watching a movie. Stack processed with Helicon Focus, Method B (depth map). Details of lighting and gear available if desired.
