***** NOT FOR COMPETITION ***** Full disclosure - Taken in 2009, NOT this week like the rules state, and shot with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 NOT a Nikon product. My wife and I took a one week motorcoach tour thru the western part of the U.S., Then got on a ship for a one week cruise to Alaska. While in Juneau, Alaska, we went to a place called Glacier Gardens. The owner of the place (which was a flower shop/nursery) had the opportunity to help friends clean up after a mud slide had trashed their property. He told us that there were quite a few trees that had been knocked over and uprooted by the mud slide and was wondering what to do with them. He finally decided to bring some of them to Glacier Gardens. There, he stripped off all of the branches, cut the tops off, and buried the trees UPSIDE DOWN with the root balls up in the air. Then he planted flowers in the root balls and used them for decoration in the garden, as well as for showing the variety of flowers for sale. The picture is not in focus, as I was in a moving golf cart at the time, and my Maxxum 7000 was not really adept at quick focusing. Just saw the theme for this weeks contest, and it reminded me that I had something that y'all might like to see that fit the theme. Andy
