Abandoned 4-22-2017 In the desolate desert of western Utah, there is an abandoned graveyard (Camp Floyd Cemetery). In the 1800's the US government sent soldiers to this lonely area to serve the country. Many of the soldiers died at this US Army camp. The soldiers were buried unceremoniously during this early time in this far away desert. When Utah State Parks system learned of these abandoned graves, they surveyed the area and found out where the burial sites were. The State Parks system could not identify the people buried there, but they left the remains in place, and placed Grave Markers on the graves. All of the grave markers in this small, deserted cemetery are labeled, "Unknown". One stone contains the inscription "2 Unknown". These solders were abandoned and left to be forgotten. It is a very sad scenario of history.
