Website Feedback

Hi All,

I notice a lot of you on here have websites. I have been building my own since my subscription to Photoshop comes with one.

I'd be interested in getting some feedback since clearly I am biased

If possible, a score out of 10 for the following would be great!:

Overall standard of photos:
Design of website:
Ease of use/navigation:
Pricing:

I'd also welcome any general feedback and suggestions for improvement you have. Here is a link to the site. There is also one in my signature.

I'm often tweaking and updating it with new material (slowly!) so happy for this to be ongoing.

Your time is much appreciated!

Nice work. sorry for being brutal. but im simply writing how I feel. I feel its best to honest.
here's the small things I dont like.
-font-not my thing. could be more stylish/modern. u are also using 3 or more there. no need for so many fonts.
-instead of art and uncategorized I think I would name it personal or something like that. so all the other pictures you have are not art?
-the mouse over moving/resizing is meh. changing the color is fine but the resize/grow/shrink is a tad old style. and only the name of the category is moving, not the "photography" under every subject.
-I would change the font color to a darker orange instead of grey (change the "photography" text as well) to visited areas. or even remove the "photography" because we can see its pictures.
-I dont like the "I dont have a particular style" it sounds more negative than being open and honest as you are trying to sound. everyone has a style. you might not have honed it downed yet but that comes with time. when you look at pictures some speak to you and you say wow and some meh. but everyone has something they like.
-no need to mention what your lenses are for.
-All works © Sam Hay (Southwest Sam Photography) 2013. Do not copy, reproduce, distribute or publish without the expressed written consent of the © holder. "All works © Sam Hay (Southwest Sam Photography) 2013" thats enough. no need for the rest. whoever will want will copy whether you wrote it or not.
-some will say its ok, some not, but me personally, I dont like seeing peoples pictures with their logo so big across the picture. just looks very unprofessional to me. if you want, then do a small Sam Hay in the corner with the copyright sign but it just detracts my eyes from enjoying the picture. much more elegant and with tact. I too have my name on photos, but its small and unobtrusive. if a person wants to steal it, he will. so the big name on it doesnt deter. its just ruining it for all the others who want to enjoy looking at it. ad there are more of them then those who want to steal. think of a painter, they always sign it small in the corner not across the whole picture in huge typing.

again sorry for being brutal I have to say it like I see it. A lot of people try to be kind and not to tell the truth like it really is because they dont want to hurt the persons feeling. but I have to be honest. im not rude, I just dont feel like rounding off the corners to soften the blow.

buddy you have nice work. oh, one thing you might consider, is maybe adding a link between home and price guide (personally id just name it pricing) with "my art" or something like this and have it drop down when hovering over it so a person can quickly go from category to category instead of pressingt he back button. just something small. I think the fonts could be a bit more fancier to be at the level of your work. its about the small details. cheers

yea, I like your work. very clean and simple. not overly PP. bravo!

and since im a bike rider myself I really liked the panned bike pictures. thumbs up! dont lose the passion.

Thanks for your comments - both helpful and kind!

The bike pictures (panning) were from the 2013 Silverstone GP. I must have taken about 600 photos that weekend, with about 20-30 keepers for personal use and only a couple for display. Silverstone is a b*tch of a circut because it's virtually impossible to get anywhere close to the track without there being a fence in the way - unless you have media credentials, that is! Most of my pics were at 250mm+ - with the added benefit of having a DX sensor - and I was often running out of zoom.

The 'mod' picture was from a local charity motorbike meet, with about 5,000+ bikes, trikes, scooters, all sorts!

With regards to the other suggestions you have made - I am slightly limited as to what I can do with certain elements of the site at the minute without venturing into the world of HTML coding. I have a very limited knowledge of it but do not have the time (or willing) at the minute to learn to the extent I would need to. It's been built with Behance Prosite, are you familiar with it?
