Hi, everyone. I just want to make point after getting back from a visit to my doctor this afternoon.
I went in for my annual physical, and he asked if there was anything I'd noticed that seemed to be odd. I told him that I seemed to have an issue with a sore on the top of my head that wouldn't heal. He took a look at it and immediately sent for a biopsy kit and a liquid nitrogen gun. He took a small sample and set it aside, then proceeded to freeze the entire area with liquid nitrogen. He indicated that he wanted to be sure with a lab analysis, but he was fairly confident that it was pre-cancerous. But it had to go, anyway, so he froze the area with liquid nitrogen.
The bottom line is that I got this because I was out in the sun, bareheaded, a lot during my life so far. (Lately, I'm prone to wearing a hat with a full brim whenever I go outside during the times when the sun is off the horizon more than three sun diameters or so.)
Do yourself, and your loved ones, a favor and wear a hat and sunscreen when you go out. Maybe it will help you avoid this, or at least minimize the sun damage to your skin so that it isn't a problem for you.
