Watermark fun with Photoshop

Well after many tries at automating watermarking/copyrighting my photos I think I finally found a good and easy way. One button does it. All I have to do now it to hit "F12" and my copyright mark / logo magically appears.

Not so much magic but a few hours of research and then designing my copyright / logo in Photoshop and then designing a ACTION in Photoshop and saving it. My daughter the PhotoShop expert was quite impressed with me. I asked her a question aobut it earlier in the day and she said whe did not use actions because they were to confusing for her. The hardest (most time consuming) part for me was the fact that I could not drag/move the watermart file onto the photo but instead had to copy and paste instead. That took me hours to figure out.

Well anyway it is done now. I posted in my daily thread a photo with the beta watermark. I am not married to it and really want some feedback on what people think.

I looked up how to do 2 very useful things in this respect- make your watermark with some blank space around it and add a dot/block/something in every corner of it, set the marking's layer opacity to 1% and save it. After that, you can either record an action to align it automatically if you're doing batches at a time or simply Place it on the main photo, ctrl+a, v, and use boarder alignment buttons to put it in the corner where you want it. The 1% opaque "markers" will help keep it a steady distance from the edge.

I know the feeling Don. My daughters were exposed to computers from Kindergarden up. It is humbling when you are struggling with something only to have your 12 year old daughter tell you, "oh that's easy Daddy, here, watch". I never touched a computer until 1987 when I went back for my Masters. PC's did not even exist when I was in college the first time in the 70's. All you had were those monstrous mainframes and lots of punch cards.

I still prefer to drag and drop my watermark. I have a couple that are on my desktop and use which ever I felt like using. Thanks for the f12 tip.
