I seem to recall there was some kid not too long ago that lost this same contest but at the time the prize was $10K instead of a truck.
As I recall, it was the same drill with a layup, a free throw, a three-pointer and a half-court shot, but *ALL* the shots had to go through the net on the *first* attempt. This kid nailed the first three shots first time, but the half-court shot he only got on his second attempt with time remaining. The crowd went wild, the kid thought the check was his but then the sponsors were all, "Sorry, Charlie... No check for you. Not yours." all because he didn't nail the half-court shot on the first attempt.
I think the family sued... Not sure if they did or if they won.
