VR on or off

There can be exceptions to the rule, something like the Tamron 150-600 on a not 100% stable tripod can benefit from VR on,in these sort of situations you have to do your own tests.

I think it would be detrimental for BIF shots, using AF-C and burst. Besides, BIF shots I do at 1/1600 shutter speed, which is almost 3 times the focal length.

Like Paul and Pete said, definitely off when on a tripod. (Who would use an unstable tripod anyway?? :D )

Whether it makes sense to have it off or on when shooting hand held is a bit more personal preference. I tend to leave it off by default unless I know I need it for the shot.

Wow, Blacktop- That camera must be worth a fortune. I googled camera/cappuccino and only found one. It is made by Bunn and has a Canon camera. I guess the liberals love this camera. Paul

Sorry about the polically incorrect remark, I won't do it again. Please don't quit on me. Blacktop has been so helpful to me and I still have many more questions to ask as I am thinking about upgrading my lenses. Paul
