vivid settings

Hi guys,
I have been looking through the site for a while now and only just signed up. sorry if it had been asked but I have looking with no prevail.
I'm new to photography and have only been going for a year or so. When i brought my d3200 the colour was looking dull and I saw online to boost the vivid settings. After playing around i reset it thinking it would take it back to stock vivid settings except it took it back to neutral. Can someone please give me the standard vivid settings or something decent.
Thanks in advance.

If I remember well, on the D3300 the vivid settings was sharpness around 6 and saturation 3. Normally you should be able to reset the cam and you'd have all original settings again.

You can play with it. Set a value and if you don't like it, increase or decrease. How much it'll affect a shot depends too on the conditions during which the shot has been taken. High saturation might work well on a rainy day but when the sun shines it can easily start to look psychedelic.

It sounds like you're looking for the Picture Controls.

Press the Menu button, highlight the "Shooting Menu" (camera icon) and then scroll down and highlight, "Set Picture Control". Click right one time to enter the different Picture Controls, one of which will be, "Vivid". Highlight "Vivid" and press "OK" to use this Picture Control or, click right one more time to enter the "Vivid" Picture Control settings menu. If you want to put this Picture Control back to it's factory default, move all the sliders to "0" and press "OK".

What I find works well for general photography when shooting JPG is using the "Standard" Picture Control but adjusting the "Sharpness" setting to +7 and the "Saturation" setting to +1. The "Landscape" Picture Control will give your shots a nice boost in saturation and contrast, you might like that one. I would adjust the "Sharpness" setting for that Picture Control to +7 as well.
