It needed a new screen.&nbsp; Anyway at iFixit it should tell you how to take it apart.&nbsp; SO you hear no chime and feel no vibration; how far did it drop?&nbsp; Did you try hooking it to an external monitor?&nbsp; If it hit the drive it is kaput that has moving parts. The 1500$ is data recovery.&nbsp; We used to got Hamventions looking for drives that were the same as one that died and swapped out the circuit board sometime we we lucky.Ciao,Lou Cioccio</blockquote>
