ViewNX-i released today

Nikon have just released their new software ViewNX-i its for transferring files from camera and viewing them. It replaces ViewNX-2.

WARNING - I just tried it on my MAC and it hangs, have reported it back to Nikon. Don't know about the Windows version, but if you are on a MAC be warned. It of course could be my system but don't think so. Anyone else tried it ?

As i only ever use it for transferring from the camera and viewing ime in no hurry so will wait a while.

Not used ViewNX-2 before. I will download the new one in the morning and give it a try, will be using it on windows 8.1

not a smooth download on my windows 7 machine, then told i needed nxd for raw files. i had some old nx2 stuff on the computer, that might have been my hang up.

On my Windows7 64 bit it works great. I just had to update my older version of Capture NX-D. So far what I see I like it.

On my Laptop windows7 32 bit it works great too. I will use it on my laptop cos this is what I am taking on vacation.

LR 5.6 doesn't work on 32 bit.

Sure I can use my Adobe Photoshop CS6, but the ViewNX-i and the Capture NX-D works fast and much easier. So I asm happy now with the laptop as well.

From what I am reading it does what View NX-2 did and also added the bundle for editing videos (ViewNX-Movie or something like that).

I don't have anything to add, but thought this question might fit here.

The disk that came with my D5200 has been misplaced and I had to rebuild my PC from scratch so I lost ViewNX 2. The one that you download from the Nikon website is view only, no file conversion or editing abilities for NEF files. It's not a big deal to shoot jpeg, but it irritates me that the on-line version is different than the supplied disk. Is there any way around this?

I can't believe the on-line version is crippled to be so non-functional. FWIW, I'm uploading a copy of the install for ViewNX now, but it will take a while. Once it's done uploading, I'll get you a link to it. I downloaded it 2-14-2015.
