View NX2 is a free software from Nikon that can be used to view, change or add info. Can also click-zoom to check focus points and do some minor editing. Has a pretty good conversion utility.

View NX2, and NX-D, both freeware from Nikon, will show you the EXIF data.

One or the other should have been packaged with your camera.

You can also download a codec for NEF or DNG files. If you have those installed, you see the pictograms of your shots in the window whenever you open a map. Depending what computer you use, it can take a bit for the image of the shot to load and you evidently don't see any edits done to the RAW files.

If you select one of those shots (single left click), all the info is displayed at the bottom of your map window. You need to maximize those windows to see everything.

Good info. I have the NEF codec installed, but never thought to look and see if extra info was displayed in Windows Explorer
