From the Vietnam War Museum
Today we honor all Vietnam Veterans who served in our Armed Forces during the Vietnam War.
Vietnam Veterans Day was
signed into law six years ago to recognize all who served in the military during the Vietnam War. It’s meant to be observed every year on this date.
It was on this day 50 years ago that the United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam was disestablished. It was also the day that the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam and when the last of our POWs were released by Hanoi.
In honor of all our veterans who served during the Vietnam War, as well as the more than 58,300 men and women whose names appear on the wall at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and on our replica wall at the museum..
Sincerely,
John Hyatt
