Have a Vanguard Tracker 3 it came with a pan head, so when I go to a ball head will I have to get a Vanguard ball Head
or any make will work with the Vanguard?

As long as the bottom of the ball head screws onto the top of the tripod, there should be no problem. Usually it's a 1/4 - 20 screw on the tripod. They make adapters for the screwhead, though. Some ball heads eve come with the adapter.
