value of a d5100

found a d5100 for 350.
Less than a year old.
Body only.
I am unsure of the shutter count.
is that worth it?

New body only in the UK is £330 ($~495).

If the body is in next to mint condition (should be for <1 year old) and the shutter count is reasonable then I guess it's an OK price

5000 or less shutter count I would do 350

spend the $49 and get the piece of mind that the warranty can give you.

I bought my D5100 refurbished from them and I can't tell that it is not new.

If you have not shot the D5100 before it is a great camera. There are many people here on the forum that shoot it.

Sounds like a good deal to me, as long as the shutter count is below 5000. Up here, those go for around $500.

Well looks like I will now be NEEDING a new camera.
While attempting to change a lens by the waters edge,My one lens slipped, seeing it was my good lens I tried to catch it.inturn dropping my other lens 55-200 and camera (D5000).
Both lenses hit the rocks and the camera must have bouced and ended up in the water ;(.
all are toast.
18-200 vr lens exploded.
what a rotten way to start a day.
called insurance first thing waiting for the adjuster to call.
Thank god my dad suggested that I insure it.
