IfIf its in good condition, it looks like a pretty good deal to me. It has a good height and the articulating horizontal capability is a must. Price seems like a deal.

As for the ballhead, I'm partial to Smith-Victor. Very heavy duty and inexpensive. Good luck.

I have the Bogen 3021 which has similar specs. Mine was pricey brand new...not sure how they compare in price when both were new.

Here are specs to mine. The load it holds is a little less than the one you posted:

Manfrotto 3021BPRO Tripod Legs (Black) 3021BPRO B&H Photo Video

And here is a used one like mine for comparison:

Keep in mind you still need to add a head. Mine with a head is heavy although I do have a heavier than normal head. The whole thing comes in around 10 pounds.

Thanks Ted. I will Google, Smith-Victor.

Check these out. Was getting these myself until the Hakuba came up.

As for the head; get a good one. I'll probably be getting another myself (unless the one on the Hakuba surprises me). I've also been eyeing the 496RC2, but can't decide if I'd rather go with an Arca style plate. Soooooo many choices, it's mind numbing.

It's your fault that I'm even looking at tripods now. I should be saving for my Tamron 16-300mm :p

LoL! Love being an enabler when I can. :)

I honestly chose the Hakuba more because I got him to drop the price, and I was sick of looking at 100 different tripods a day trying to decide on one. After I broke my cheapo the other day, it was time to move on to something quickly and better than my $5 goodwill purchase.

Doubt you could go wrong with the Manfrotto you listed. They look pretty darned good. Although; Dolica does have their higher end carbon model as a complete refurb' unit, for $169!

I was actually going to pull the trigger on that one, but unfortunately they don't take Paypal at the checkout.:(

I was going to buy that as well. but didn't for the same reason. Just as well, I really don't need a tripod right now anyway. Just getting bit by NAS is all.
